This blog is a collaboration between CPUT Fashion Design students of all years, started by this crazy bunch of 3rd years (below). Here you will find some great general advice as well as very practical tips from students from first to fourth years, as well as lecturers. We also included some hot spots to help you navigate your way around Cape Town while looking for fabric, sewing supplies, the best printing places and even our favourite bakery (for those stressful times), all tried and tested! Basically, we put the question forward: "What do you wish you knew before doing this year?" The information is based on feedback gathered from our fellow classmates and is helpful advice for an aspiring fashion design student. We wish we had a blog like this to go to from the beginning of our studies, as we found out too many important things too late, so everything in this blog comes from first hand experience. We hope to leave a legacy where students can feel free to help each other in an interactive and relaxed environment, where the information can be uploaded through the years.
